I was born and raised at the foot of the Wasatch Mountains in Salt Lake City, Utah. I spent a fair amount of time outdoors and every summer my parents exposed us to a new landscape somewhere in the inner mountain west. Through these trips and other adventures of my youth I quickly developed a love of nature and the myriad of landscapes and scenes that moved something inside of me. I naturally wanted to capture some of these experiences and take them home. Photography was a logical route for me to take.
Over the years I’ve strived to refine my exposures hoping to communicate life through my photographs rather than simply documenting some venture. I hope that by sharing my perception of life through the lens of the camera, awe is invoked in others the same way that it was in my soul at the release of the shutter.
I also enjoy the ability the camera has to show us what little the eye sees in the moments of life of everyday people. We are so busy but the camera allows us to stop time in a sense and reflect on happy moments with family and friends and really perceive what life has offered us that we may not see as life flies by.
I’m currently residing in the beautiful city of Fayetteville, North Carolina with my wife, Lacy.
